I am a little behind on my blogging this weekend sorry! We have had a busy weekend! We took our camper to my in-laws to store for the winter. They live about 2 hours from our place in Central Alberta. So we packed up and headed out yesterday morning. It is a bit of a pain to hitch the trailer to our truck from the driveway…we were stressed out and worked up by time we were ready to go! Fun stuff! But we got it there and now it is parked for the winter and we had a nice little visit with my hubs parents too.
Now onto my recap…..a little disclaimer before I start the pictures are not that great because it is hard to hold everything and take the picture plus the lighting was not the greatest in the hall. Just had to let you know.
So on Thursday night my hubs and I attended the Rocky Mountain Wine and Food Festival. It was a great and delicious time! 
My DaddyO was kind enough to be our taxi for the night! Thanks Pop! He drove us there and picked us up afterwards. Just trying to be responsible! 
My parents were watching J for us while we went and had a little fun!
When we arrived I of course started with a taste of my favourite kind of wine…RED!
It was from this wine maker.
It was quite nice. I really like Chilean wines. This taste went down fast!
We tried a little of everything…and let me tell you it was a lot! It was almost over whelming on what to try first! So here are a few pics of what I tasted along the way. I did not take a picture of everything but this is pretty much most of it. It was hard to balance a plate, glass and the camera! Wheeww!
This was some pulled pork on a crostini with crispy leeks. So very good!
Yummo…LOBSTER with butter! need I say more…Nope!
Little sliders…with pickled onion, mustard and ketchup. Delish!
This white wine was sooooo good! It was cold and so crisp and yummy! The grapes come from the Soave region in Italy.
It is pretty new. But I managed to buy a bottle at the festival. So happy about that!
I got myself a 1 year subscription to Wine Access Magazine for a special price. This is a Canadian Wine Magazine that focuses on Wines that can be bought in Canada! Right up my alley. I got a complementary magazine as well and have already flipped through it. I love it!
Next up some Smoked Salmon from Cravings. These little babies were so awesome…we went back for more later on!
Then more wine was consumed! Two tastes of reds!
I really like this wine and took a card. I will probably buy it for myself.
A lovely Italian red….smooth!
Then I found the crab cakes…
This was about the last thing I could stuff down! I was getting pretty full by this time.
I did however paroose the wonderful assortments of sweet treats!
They all looked so good…but I did not partake believe it or not! I know, I even surprised myself!
However, the hubs did have something sweet…
a caramel apple crepe! They were whipping them up in a flash! They smelled so good!
Then to eat it….
it was a little messy! he ate I took pictures!
Not just wine and food was consumed…..
I also drank water to help balance it all out X 2.
But we did have a few tickets left that need to be used before we left….soooooo
we tried some Merlot from Wayne Gretzky Estates! Go figure! It was ok…but not my favourite. Sorry Wayne!
By this time is was around 8pm and we were DONE! We called my Dad and were on our way! It was a lovely night out for us and we love be able to taste a little of everything…we LOVE food and wine. The hubs did try some beer and tequila as well! He was feeling pretty good when we left. Hehehehe!
Unfortunately the next day was a work day for me and when I got home it was straight to bed!

Now it is time to watch a much over due Biggest Loser PVR’d from last week!
