The U2 concert was unbelievable! They are bigger than life and put on a show to match it! It was held at BC Place which is a covered football stadium in Vancouver.
When we purchased our tickets we got VIP seats. These tickets included a pre show party with a few drinks and some food.
We got some fancy passes and a small gift when we entered.
We found a table first and gawked at the GIGANTIC stage!!
I am talking this is the biggest stage I have ever seen….EVER! It takes 4 days to set this thing up so they have 3 of them that go around ahead of them so it is ready for their concerts! My goodness!!
We then assessed the food.
I took a little walk and decided on some seafood ravioli, risotto, cheese toast and some satay. The little roll I did not have I gave it to hubs. I was mostly just picking as I was still feeling a little bit blah. The seafood ravioli was very good though. I mostly drank just water. I did have a few sips of the red wine but it was not that good so I left it.
I also had a little bit of fruit.
We sat for a bit and hung out until it was time for the pre-show.
We then went and found our seats. The Black Eyed Peas were the opening act!
They were awesome and played for about an hour.
Fergie was looking good and sang her song Big Girls Don’t Cry.
After they finished playing it was about a 30 minute wait for U2 while they changed over the stage.
This is when the crowd really started to file in!! 55,000 people to be exact!!
Then it started!
and from here on it was pretty much awesome!
They played both new and old music!
The 360 screen above the band was just huge and so very cool!
They way the used the screen above them was so neat…it almost looked like a music video and not just a screen view of them singing. Really cool!
The concert lasted for about 2 hours and 10 minutes. They played two encores.
The final encore he had this neon round microphone that came down from the ceiling that he sang into. It was pretty cool. His jacket also had the neon on it as well. They sang “With or Without You”.
Then they were done and so were we. It was almost 11:30 by this time and we pretty much stood the entire concert! Good thing our hotel was right across the street from the stadium. It was pretty crazy when 55,000 people leave a stadium all at once. The police had closed down most of the roads surrounding the building so people could just walk right down the streets.
Well big plans for today and I have to get into the shower.
Tah for now!
