Beautiful Day

Aug 5

My day started early this morning at 4:45am actually.  I even woke up before my alarm went off.  I had plans to do a little weight training before I went for my 5K run.  I got up had a dose of Vega Sport and got to it!

My workout was:

Circuit 1

DB Swing – 12 Reps (15lbs)

Decline Push-up – 10 reps

Circuit 2

1 Leg Deadlift – 12 reps each leg

DB Row Underhand – 12 reps (12lbs)

Circuit 3

MB Mountain Climbers – 15 reps each side alternating

Reverse Crunch – 12 reps

After I was finished I had a bit of a rest of about 15 minutes then I was off on my 5k run.  It took us about 30 minutes to complete.  I felt good and strong even on the hills.

Needless to say when I got home I was more than ready for breakfast and I was thinking up something yummy while I was running!

IMG_1152 A Spinach and Egg Omelette…YUMMY!  I scrambled 2 whole eggs and threw them in a pan with some sautéed spinach and a wedge of Herb & Garlic Laughing Cow cheese.  I topped it off with fresh ripe tomato slices and on the side a slice of Ezekiel bread toasted.

a few ripe, sweet and delish berries.

IMG_1149 Of course a steamy cup of coffee!

IMG_1153This breakfast hit the spot!  I devoured every last bite!

Later on in the morning I caught this beautiful lady on the TV!!

P1050393 It was so fantastic to watch Caitlin and she gave such a great interview.  Caitlin’s blog is one of the very first blogs that I starting reading and have been reading for a while now.  I love reading her blog everyday and the positive messages she sends out to everyone.

P1050395 She looked great and I was just so pleased for her that all her hard work is paying off.  I will be getting a copy of her book Operation Beautiful once it comes out in stores in Canada.  Looks like it is going to be August 10th.  I can’t wait to flip through it and read away!  Congratulations Caitlin!

Lunch today was a very yummy salad.

IMG_1160 I topped a salad of romaine, celery, cucumber and cherry tomatoes with some broiled salmon and a little creamy dreamy avocado.

IMG_1157 I drizzled it with a little Fig flavoured Balsamic vinegar.  I had a HUGE glass of H2O as well.  I have been drinking up a storm today.  It must be from all my exercise this morning.

My supper tonight never got onto camera as I completely forgot to take a picture.  I must still be on vacation!  But I made a great Artichoke, chicken and spinach pizza.  I ate 3 slices and then proceeded to have a slice of my Birthday cake from yesterday!  Yup…still in vacation mode I think!

After supper I treated myself to a little foot pampering in the way of a pedicure.  My tootsies were in some dire need of TLC.

I went to a new place that opened up not to long ago near my house called Labelle Nail Spa.

P1050396 The spa was very nice, serene and relaxing.  I practically fell asleep in the chair…it was a massaging chair!  Ooooo…felt so darn good!

If I was not so darn tired I would have taken a picture of my perfectly pedicured feet but I was bushed and just relaxed instead.  I painted them a great purple color :)

Well speaking of rest…I am heading to bed!

Nighty..night!

5am is probably a great time for a run…assuming I could get out of bed…oh and if I liked running. I am a little bit jealous that you have that much motivation. or is it just a wee bit of insanity :)
