HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! to all the Canadians!
I paid a little lunchtime visit to the market today! I just love the market in the fall!
so may different kinds of squash and gourds!
Beautiful Alberta grown egg plants. They were so purple and looked so yummy!
There is also this absolutely wonderful flower stand there and everything smelt wonderful and looked so beautiful!
Look little pumpkins on a branch!
They were real and so very cute!
The main reason I went to the market today was to stop by my favourite stand
I needed to replenish my Honey Crisp Apple supply! Plus I also picked up a few other things as well.
Work today was so quiet half the office took today off to have an extra long weekend. It was kind of nice to have peace and quiet actually.
After the market I enjoyed my lunch. It was a pretty chilly day today…our high was minus 5!! Yes, that is right we did not even get above ZERO today!
So I had soup! I needed it after my very cold and windy walk to the market!
The quick and easy way! The Campbell’s way! I really like this soup. The nutritional stats are not bad either. Except the sodium content.
Good amount of protein and lots of fibre!
I had it along with a piece of Ezekiel toast spread with the last of my Sabra love! Also some red pepper strips. I have been eating a lot of peppers lately to eat them up! Do not want to waste my veggies!
Lunch was so good! I love eating soup on a chilly day!
Midway through my afternoon I pulled out this….
I picked up a cupcake while at the market. My sweet treat for the week! I have to confess this cupcake was pretty big and I ate it ALL! over the span of about a half hour. I sipped some tea with it. I savoured every bite…it was a wonderful vanilla cupcake topped with strawberry buttercream…delish!
For this reason I kept supper on the light side tonight.
I made some fresh basa fish fillets.
I put them in a foil packet to steam in the oven. I topped them with fresh lemon, pepper and lemon pepper seasoning.
While that was cooking I steamed some brown rice and stir fried some veggies.
In the pan I put a zucchini, red pepper and yellow pepper. Again trying to eat up my peppers! I seasoned them with Mrs. Dash all purpose and oregano. Wonderful!
I also made a topping for the fish.
The last of my grape tomatoes and an avocado. I mixed in some pepper, lime juice, a pinch of salt and some dried Cilantro since I had no fresh left! It was scrumptious on the fish!
This supper was perfect after having my treat in the afternoon.
This weekend will be spent doing the usually stuff but the best part is it is a long weekend and will involve turkey! On Sunday we will be going to the hubs Uncle’s house for turkey dinner with the family! It will be a great time as we have not seen his family since before the summer. They live in central Alberta which is about 2 hours from Calgary. We will spend the night and head home on Monday. So after tomorrow I will not be back till Monday sometime.
Well time to do some relaxing! Maybe a little reading in my cozy bed…sounds pretty good!
Night!
