Well it has been almost a month since I quit work to stay at home with J. It has been busy but it is also so much fun. He can be too funny…like this morning at breakfast we played around a little bit with the camera as he ate his bowl of oats.
He is still trying to master eating all by himself. This morning I let him go at it….oats are a good thing for him to eat by himself since they stick to the spoon really well but it can get a little messy!
Ooops…missing the mouth a little.
But he had fun…and kept gigging as I snapped the pictures.
As I supervised his breakfast I sipped on some sencha green tea.
I love this tea set it makes just the right amount for me.
Earlier in the morning I met up with my running buddy and I did a 2 mile run. Next week I am going to up my distance. I am gradually building my distance again since it had been such a long time since I ran last. So far it is working well and I am feeling great. My experience is if I do too much to fast my IT Band gets tight and then well the pain starts. I am making sure to roll my legs after my runs…it always makes them feel so much better. After my run I made myself a green monster.
I was starving when I made this and started to drink it then I remembered I needed to snap a picture! It looks more brown than green because I used chocolate whey protein powder. It was creamy and delicious. I purchased some Maca powder a little while ago and finally tried it in my smoothie. I really like the flavour of it. I will have to remember to use it from now on.
The rest of the day whizzed by like usual. I had an appointment this afternoon to go to so I dropped J off at Grandma and Grandpa’s for a little visit.
Supper tonight was pretty tasty and quick. We had roasted fingerling potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts and beef filet.
This meal was yummy. I roasted the potatoes in some olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic, sea salt and black pepper. The steaks I seared in a frying pan and then put them in the oven to finish cooking for another 7 minutes. I love doing them that way it keeps the juices in the steak and it stays tender and moist.
The brussel sprouts got a little more browned that I would do normally but they still tasted delish!
I had my meal with a sploosh of red wine. I love a good steak every once in a while.
Right now I have some cheezy kale chips dehydrating for tomorrow.
I can’t wait to try them…they smell amazing!
This is the first time I have made them. When I made the cheezy sauce I gave it a little try and it was positively yummy!
Hmmmm…only 9 more hours left. You can have kale chips for breakfast right??
After supper tonight I went for an hour long massage..it was heaven! So I think a warm relaxing bath is just what I need before bed.
Good night!
