So today is our last day in Fernie
we leave tomorrow. It has been great just hanging out doing ABSOULTLEY nothing and spending time with my son and hubby! I have worked out a little, ate a lot, drank wine and watched TV and DVD’s it has been awesome!
This morning the weather was very cool, windy and cloudy!
Before my hubby hit the hill today we had an indulgent breakfast of bacon and eggs. The best part my hubby was the chef this morning!
The bacon was a maple bacon and it was so good! Very maplely and the perfect amount of crisp!
Of course I had a lovely runny egg on a piece of whole wheat toast
and to round out my meal of meat and protein a little fruit
a sweet fuzzy kiwi. Breakfast was perfect! and so was my pressed frothy Butter Pecan coffee. Mmmmm…yummy!
After breakfast I hung out drank another cup of coffee and surfed the internet and read some blogs for a while. I then gave J a snack put him down for a nap and took a nice hot shower.
Lunch was a little healthier!
My avocado finally got ripe enough to eat so I had a veggie sandwich with avocado, red pepper, tomatoes, spinach, slice of swiss cheese and Dijon mustard with a side of red plum! So good!
For dessert a little bit of Extra Dark chocolate.
My weakness! But oh so good! I was pretty full after this! If I could take a picture of my butt firmly planted on the couch that is what you would have saw next because that is exactly what I did. It was great! I watched TV and chilled.
My hubby came back early from biking today because it started to rain and did so for a good couple of hours. So his day was cut short. So we hung out together as a family plus had a bit of a nap.
Tonight we went for dinner at another hotel at the resort the Lizard Creek Lodge.
This place was very nice and we had a great view of the mountains from our table.
When I sat down of course I order a glass of merlot.
Hubby snapped a picture of me in action….
We started with some crab cakes served with marinated seaweed salad and wasabi mayo for dipping. This is the first time I have had seaweed salad and it was very good. I would have it again. I will have to give it a try when I go for sushi next time.
The crab cakes were very good. Moist on the inside and crispy on the outside and very decedent when dipped in the wasabi mayo. J’s dinner of fish and chips are in the background. He loved it and gobbled almost all the fish and about third of the chips right up! Big meal for a little boy!
While hubby and I were waiting for our meals there was some tomfoolery with J and lots of picture taking!
Sometimes it is fun to goof off! HA!
For dinner I chose the Portabella Mushroom Melt
It was fantastic! But really anything smothered in cheese is good right!
I had it with the salad greens that had the most tasty balsamic dressing drizzled on it!
The portobello mushroom was done perfectly and the bread and cheese were delish…the meal was very filling and absolutely wonderful! I finished the whole thing except for a little bit of the bread! I thoroughly enjoyed this meal!
My hubby’s meal was also so very good! I tasted his as well of course! He had the Pulled Pork sandwich which came with baked beans and Seafood Chowder on the side.
The baked beans were the best I ever tasted! They had bacon, brown sugar and bits of apple in them…so awesome! The soup was also amazing and creamy with an abundance of big pieces of seafood! Plus the pulled pork sandwich was scrumptious…mind you I only got a piece of the scraps left behind because my hubby ate it so fast!
This meal was the perfect way to cap off our relaxing weekend in Fernie. Again tonight no room for dessert! Mind you I do have some dark chocolate left if I get a hankering…but I think I am good! So full right now.
Well we have to be up and at it early tomorrow since check-out time is at 10 am! I am going to make some sammies for the road tomorrow…and then hit the hay.
Good night!

Looks like you were having fun. We know the owners of the Lizard Creel Lodge; Doug & Bruce Fikowski. (and Mike). They own the Crossing as well and are good friends of Ed’s..
