Being at home is so different than going to work everyday. At home I really have so much to keep me busy! Plus looking after J sure does keep me going and my days seem to whip by in an instant!
Yesterday I managed to get out in the backyard while J was taking his afternoon nap and do a little clean up work. I raked the grass and cleaned up the old leaves from the fall. It was tiring work plus it was a warm day. I was pretty sore this morning when I woke up so I did not do my weight circuit this morning. However, I do have a 2 mile run planned bright and early tomorrow morning with my running buddy.
Today J was a busy little man working on his walking! We took him outside to walk up and down the sidewalk with his walker and he is doing so well.
These pics are from yesterday…we had him outside since the weather has been so beautiful!
He does such a good job…and he can be really fast. He is getting so much stronger in his legs. Plus he has fun being outside and getting to rome on his own.
For supper tonight I was craving some pasta and this!
While preparing supper I sipped away at this lovely wine the hubs picked up last weekend. It was delicious. It was velvety smooth and had a very luscious berry flavour with very mild tannins…it was perfect. Unfortunately this bottle had a very luscious price as well and was just a treat. So I will savour it for the rest of the week.
With the pasta we had a little Jalapeño Cheddar bread that I picked up at the market this morning.
It was crusty and chewy with a middle Jalapeno flavour. I love cheddar bread it is so good. I had two little pieces with my pasta.
The pasta sauce I threw together was so darn good! Plus it made the whole house smell so yummy!
In this pot I put some ground bison, chopped red pepper, mushrooms and a jar of Newman’s Own Pasta sauce. I love the Newman’s Own it is so delicious for a jarred sauce. I let it simmer for bit which made it richer and taste wonderful. I served the sauce on a whole wheat rotini pasta.
I put my portion in a smaller bowl to make sure I did not over do it. I LOVE pasta and sometimes I can dish out way more than I need. I also had some Brussels sprouts my veggie intake today was a little low so I added them to my meal.
I topped my pasta with a little freshly grated parmesan cheese and some red pepper flakes for heat. YUMO!
The wine was so good I poured myself a little more during supper.
Now that the kitchen is cleaned and J is tucked into bed it is time for me to get to bed! I need to get rested up for my early morning run.
