My Clean Eats: Jan 30, 2013

by Sheri on January 31, 2013

Yesterday was a long and busy day!  Wednesday’s are a double workout day for me.  Strength training in the morning, ABS and Cardio in the PM.  It is a tough day mentally to do everything I need to do during the day being a stay at home mom and then get my butt moving at night to complete my workouts for the day.  It helps that my hubby joined me for my PM cardio.  We did a biking workout…more on that later.

Yesterday my metabolism must have been humming because I was hungry all day long!

Hence my Facebook post in the afternoon….

LOTS of extra veggies were eaten let me assure you!

My clean eats for the day:

Clean Eat Jan 30

Meal 1 @ 5am – Changed it up this morning decided to have 1 whole egg and 5 egg whites scrambled along with some sweet potato hash browns.  It was delicious but hard to eat all that so early.  Thought I would try it out but I don’t think I will do that again.  I will stick to my protein shake instead.

Meal 2 @ 8am – Protein Shake which had, I scoop of Chocolate protein powder, water, 1/2 banana, blueberries, spinach and Udo’s Oil.

Meal 3 @ 10:45am – Sprouted Grain English Muffin topped with Crunchy Almond Butter and Raspberry Natural All Fruit Jam and baby carrots.  This had become my FAVOURITE mid-morning snack!  LOVE IT!  Love the almond butter too!

I love this brand of Jam it is the bomb!  They also have a ton of other flavours as well.  All of them are good.  But Raspberry is my favourite!

Meal 4 @ 1:10pm – I was starving for lunch and could not wait to devour it! I had Grass Feed Ground Beef with whole wheat pasta also mixed in was black beans, tomato sauce and extra veggies of mushrooms and onions to beef it up! Pardon the pun!

Meal 5 @  5:20pm – In a pan I sautéed in coconut oil Shrimp, green beans, black beans, corn and added a little more veggies for bulk of mushrooms, onions and grape tomatoes.  This meal was so good.  I topped it with a generous amount of Green Hot Sauce.  The hubby and the boys had something different.

Meal 6 @ 9:10 pm – This was a little late but I finished my cardio a little later than I had planned.  I was pretty hungry and enjoyed my last meal of the day of cottage cheese, fresh blueberries and walnuts!  Yum!

Liquids for the day:

My jug is by my side all-day-long!  It goes where I go!

I had my usual dessert tea after lunch and supper.

Love this tea…it helps calm my sweet tooth in a big way!

I also treated myself to a few things….

I grabbed a Starbucks in the morning while I was running a few errands while J was in school.  Instead of having the Skinny Lattes that I love so much these days I have a Tall Black Americano with either one shot of sugar-free Vanilla or Caramel Syrup.  Not a latte but it is still good…love my Americano!

I also picked up a few packs of this gum while I was at the grocery store.

As far as sugar-free gum goes the flavour is pretty good although it does not last long but I bought them to chew when I am craving something sweet and they work for me in that respect.  I am not a real gum chewer to begin with so I usually only chew these when I am out and about and don’t have access to my tea Winking smile

In the afternoon I did a little food prep.  I made a batch of Turkey Muffins since my protein in the fridge was in need of a replenish.  My food prep days are Sundays and also Wednesdays.  Since I eat most of my meals from home I only do a few days at a time.

Perfectly portioned out according to my meal plan!  The hubby and J like them too.  We tried them on Zax but he still is not into eating meat!  Silly boy!

You can find the recipe here if you want to try them out.  They are  so simple to make and taste great!

I also chopped up some more grab and go veggies.  Red peppers, celery and cucumber.

Like I talked about at the beginning of my post Wednesdays are a two part workout day for me.

In the morning I did my strength workout.

Leg day!  Killer! Let me tell ya!  I have a hard time sitting down the next day! Ha!  Call me crazy…I LOVE leg day…it challenges me!

In the evening after supper the hubby and I did a cardio session.  But before that I did my AB workout.

Love to hate abs!  It is a killer workout but I think it is working.  I train my abs twice a week.

Abs progress

I am into the 3rd week of my program and I am already seeing progress!!  Yayyy!

Then it was time for a little Sufferfest!

LOVE the header on their website: “I will beat my ass today to kick yours tomorrow!” HA!

Bike Workout

Let me tell you it DOES BEAT YOUR ASS!  The one we chose was a Hills Interval…it was hard!!  I was sweating like crazy when I was done!

After that it was time for a hot bath and then bed!

I slept like a ROCK!

It was great!
