NEW YORK – Day 2

Nov 15

Our 2nd day in New York was a blast and we packed A LOT into this day.  We got started early by hitting up Dean & Deluca for a quick breakfast.

IMG_7493 I had to try the coffee here since it is one of the icons of New York city!

IMG_7495 They had so much to choose from!

IMG_7496 I decided on a Zucchini muffin and a coffee.  I had a picture of my coffee but it was one of the pictures that did not make it! :(

IMG_7499 M enjoying her rye toast and coffee…yummy!

After our breakfast it was time to board the bus for our City Tour.  Today we were going through the Downtown Loop.  The weather was perfect for it too.  It was overcast but really warm!

IMG_7507 Cheese! We sat at the top of the bus on the outside for perfect picture taking position!

We started in Times Square.  Nothing can describe Times Square it is just unbelievable and the signs and billboards are humongous!

IMG_7512 I could not snap pictures fast enough to grab it all!

IMG_7514 IMG_7516 It was just so cool!

IMG_7521 Along the way on our bus tour we passed lots of great buildings.

IMG_7523

IMG_7525 This is the main Post Office.  Of course the building is very old and has been there forever!

IMG_7527 I building sign saying Congrats to the World Series winners…the New York Yankees!

IMG_7528

IMG_7531 If you live in Manhattan and you need to park your car this is how they do it!  Long term parking…crazy!

IMG_7533 The Empire State building off in the distance.

IMG_7549

The famous Flatiron Building.  It was so lovely!

IMG_7547

IMG_7548 The famous Macy’s department store.  Which we already visited on our first day..it was right across from our hotel.

IMG_7540

Getting ready for Christmas.

IMG_7537

IMG_7556 The park where Miranda from Sex in the City married Steve!  Had to take a picture.

IMG_7557 We hopped off in Greenwich to take a walk through it and find our way to Soho.

We strolled though Washington Square Park.

IMG_7572 It was such a beautiful park.

IMG_7566

IMG_7568After taking in the park we found our way to Soho.  At first we went the wrong way but we figured it out and got back on track.

IMG_7576

We also had a celeb sighting!  Emma Thompson was on the street filming!

IMG_7578 She looked awesome.

IMG_7580

The first place we found was Bloomies!

IMG_7581 We took a much needed bathroom break and picked up some water and took a quick look around at the store.

We got hungry so we stopped here for lunch.

IMG_7586 This cafe had delicious sandwiches plus much more.

IMG_7582 I decided on a Turkey breast Panini with brie cheese and veggies.  It was tasty!

IMG_7584 Plus my Bloomingdales water.

Since we had done so much walking around we took the subway to our next adventure.

IMG_7588 We got on at Canal Street.  This was my very first subway ride! :)

IMG_7587 It was pretty cool!

IMG_7594 We took the Staten Island Ferry ride.  It is free and you get to see a really good view of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty along the way.  It takes about an hour there and back.

IMG_7595 See you later Manhattan!

IMG_7619 It was neat seeing it up this close.

It was a grey day…but still a really nice and peaceful boat ride.

After our boat ride we hooked up with our bus tour again.

IMG_7635 We went by Wall Street.

IMG_7636

IMG_7642 Past the Brooklyn Bridge.

IMG_7652 The famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

IMG_7649 There was a dignitary staying at the hotel on this day.  They hang the flag of the country when they are there.  You can’t see it very well in this picture though.

IMG_7659 When we reached Rockefeller Centre we hopped off.

IMG_7656

IMG_7660 It was awesome and everything I imaged it would be.

IMG_7663

IMG_7661

IMG_7664 All the buildings in New York are just beautiful.

IMG_7665

We took a bit of a walk around.  Of course I was snapping pictures all over the place it is hard not too!

IMG_7669

We chose to have a Red Velvet cupcake each.

IMG_7675 It was so very…very…good!

Once we had our little treat we made our way back to the hotel for a much needed rest before dinner.

We went to a great Italian Restaurant for dinner called Tony’s Di Napoli.  It was the best Italian food I have ever had.  We were in heaven!!

We started with a drink at the bar.

CheersCheers!

Now I did have a few pictures from this meal but these are the photos that I lost from this day!  Of course!  So no pictures of the awesome meal we ate!

We started with a fresh tomato salad with mozzarella and basil dressed with a balsamic dressing.  Then we had the most scrumptious chicken parmesan ever with a little pasta.  Truly delicious!  I also had a great glass of red Chianti with my meal which explains the last picture!

Liberity Girls Us acting goofy wearing our Liberty crowns!

Stay tuned for New York Day 3 tomorrow.

Good night!
