Getting in protein and carbohydrates after a workout is important to the muscles you just worked. For me I always like to have a shake after I workout. It is quick, portable and it gets me what I need quick.
I thought I would share what has become my favorite combination and this is the shake I make pretty much everyday. I love having a cold, creamy and nutrient packed shake after a hard workout!
Superfood Post Workout Shake
1 scoop of protein powder (I like to use Canadian Protein Chocolate)
1.5 cups water
3/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 tsp maca powder (I love Giddy YoYo)
1 scoop of greens (I use Magnum Greens)
1 scoop of Glutamine (helps with recovery)
4-5 ice cubes
Put all ingredients into the blender and blend it up
Yum!
Super purple and so good!
