Stocking up

I thought I would share my grocery haul for the week.  I try and get to the grocery store either on the Saturday or the Sunday during the weekend so I can be prepared for the week ahead.  I usually try and go alone….it is like therapy my “me time”.  Silly I know but I love to grocery shop because I love food.


I bought:

Grape Tomatoes
Snap peas
Romaine Lettuce Wraps
Red Peppers
1 Lime
Bunch of Bananas
Crumbled Goat Cheese
Big tub of Bruschetta
2 Dozen Local Organic Eggs
Coconut Coffee creamer
2 pints of organic raspberries
1 pint of blueberries
2 containers of Greek Yogurt
Unsweetened Coconut Milk (having been wanting to try this)
shelled pistachios (because I am lazy!)
1 pack of chicken tenders
fresh cilantro


From this I will plan out my meals for the week.  This grocery shop was just to add to what I already still have in the fridge and freezer.  We still have a lot of meat in the freezer so that is why you do see much of it.

Breakfast this week I am going to try and have a green smoothie every morning.  Quick and easy and darn good for you!

My basic green smoothie goes something like this:

Spinach (2 big handfuls)
1 cup water or Almond Milk
1 cup frozen berries or a combo with banana
2 scoops of Protein powder
and a healthy fat like coconut oil not much usually about a tsp.



Lunch almost always consists of a HUGE ASS SALAD.  So lots of veggies whatever appeals to me then a protein (salmon, chicken or beans) and sometimes I sprinkle a little goat cheese on too.  I also make my own vinaigrette.  I have a two that I really like that I will whip up and use during the week.

Snacks I like to have cottage cheese, greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs, turkey jerky or nuts and pair it with either a fruit or a veggie or both.  I like quick and easy and most of all portable when I am running around with the kids.  I also like to snack on hummus from time to time as well.  Or make a soomthie, Jaxin likes them too!

Supper I try to plan those meals for the week so I know what were are having ahead of time and do not have to think about it because that can lead to take out! BAD!

During the summer months it usually ends up being a bbq’d protein of some sort of veggies.  We love to BBQ around here. 

So there you have a look into my weekly meals!  Now off to shower as we are off to my parents for a little visit this afternoon.
