Summer just seems to be such a busy time and blogging kind of takes a back seat for a bit. But I am going to try and get back at it! Now that the summer is winding down and we are already into August! Goodness where did the time go??
We had a busy last few weeks. The hubs and I attended one of his best friends wedding then we went camping and when I returned from having my lazy butt glued to a lawn chair for the last week I ran 6KM this morning and it included running up and down a very steep hill 4 TIMES!! not to mention that today is my Birthday!
Well I will get started with the wedding. The hubs very good friend got married on July 24th which I think was one of the hottest days of the year and the wedding was outside and so was the reception. The hubs was one of his groomsman…and I must say he looked pretty darn sexy in his tux
Anywhoo! The guests were melting as the ceremony started..it was so darn hot!
But I felt more sorry for these poor guys! They were so very hot in their tuxes…but they marched on!
The bridesmaids had it a little easier in their pretty breezy strapless dresses.
I loved the purple. The dresses were so flattering on all her girls.
The bride Beth looked so very pretty in her grown. She was smiling from ear to ear coming down the isle…love that!
The ceremony was short and sweet but very heart felt and lovely.
The new Mr. & Mrs.! Yahoo!
Then it was time to party!
Their darling whole made wedding cake was melting due to the heat!
After the Bride and Groom had entered the reception and everyone sat down they let the poor groomsman remove their jackets and ties! They were much happier bunch after that.
Then Beth and Stacy cut their poor melting cake!
Shortly after that we had supper. They cooked up an awesome steak bbq it was very delicious! I did not snap any pictures because I was to busy gobbling it up! I was so darn hungry by then.
After supper was complete Beth and Stacy had their first dance.
It was really a lovely wedding. We had a great time and enjoyed spending time with some old friends.
We returned from the wedding and stayed home for a few days then we were off again to go camping.
We camped at a campground that is owned by my hubby’s uncle. It is by a beautiful lake in Central Alberta.
Coal Lake has lovely sunsets. We spent 4 days relaxing and enjoying very nice weather.
Our little trailer…and campsite.
Unfortunately the mosquitoes were relentless! We used A LOT of bug spray an other means to keep them away!
The citronella candle burned pretty much non stop.
Plus we also used the OFF Lantern…gave a nice little ambiance I think!
And of course there was the fire.
I love a campfire for the warmth, the smell and as a bug repeller!
The evenings by the fire were my favourite.
Whilst relaxing by the fire in the evening I enjoyed a my fair share of red…YUM!
Zoei enjoyed her little self as well!
We enjoyed plenty of family time.
It was a great little family vacation…sad that it had to end. Now we are back home and trying to get back into our routine. Like this morning I went on an early morning run.
I will put my eventful day into another post…this one is getting a little long.
