I hung my Fall wreath on my front door today and had a little fun with my camera!
However it feels nothing like Fall! our weather has been crazy it was 28 degrees outside today and tomorrow it is suppose to be 33 degrees…WTH! Oh well I will take what I can get of nice weather…since our summer was pretty crappy!
I started my morning with a weight circuit workout it was a tough one but I pulled through!
I did the following circuit 3 times through:
Bulgarian Split Squat – X8 each leg
Stability Ball Push Up – X10
1 Leg Romanian Deadlift – X12 each leg
Stability Ball Pass – 8 complete passes
Sumo Squat – X12 (15lb weight)
Stability Ball Pike – X8 (these are killer!) my last set I could only do 6 before I fell over!
I was sweaty and spent after this workout!
When I was done I immediately had a recovery drink and then it was time to go and get J since he was awake.
I made breakfast for J of cereal and banana his favourite. For me I made a protein smoothie!
- 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder – I use Prograde very yummy!
- 1 cup of Almond milk
- 1 tbsp Almond Butter
- 1/2 banana
- 2 handfuls of spinach
- 1 cup of ice
After we finished breakfast we went for a walk. It was beautiful outside so it was the perfect opportunity. I loaded J in the jogging stroller and hit the sidewalk. We made a pit stop at the park for a little swing action and then dropped off some movies and hit the grocery store for a few things and then home. We were gone for about an hour. It was already getting hot when we got back and it was only 10 am!
When we got home it was time for J’s snack and then a nap! I had a little snack of cheese and Kashi Honey Crackers…I love these they are so tasty!
I then got to sit and relax with a cup of coffee and a little blog and email catch up!
After that I took a much needed hot shower! I was pretty stinky after my active morning.
Lunch today was thrown together with some leftovers. I had my lunch before J got up from his nap.
I took the remainder of the Falafel’s and put them in a sprouted grain wrap with hummus, romaine lettuce and tomatoes. Twas very yummy!
After I gave J his lunch we hit the road running…to the mall! I have been at the mall a lot lately. But when I was getting ready after my shower I dropped my face powder and it hit the floor and crumbled like crackers everywhere. So I needed to go and get a new one! I also made another little purchase while I was there.
A Teaopia personal Tea Master and some Spring Morning blend Green tea! The tea comes with the brewer. This little brewer is so cool!! You put your loose leaf tea in the pot add hot water, let it brew and then place it on your tea cup and it drains the brewed tea right into your cup and leaves the tea behind! I will be giving this a try very soon and will show ya how it works!
I also got my books today in the mail…I love reading!
The Book of Negroes is one of the books for my book club. I also got a Wine Journal. I want to start journaling the wines that I really like so I can remember them better. The journal is really neat it even has a place to paste the label as well. I already have a wine that I can record in my new journal!
Even though the weather does not feel like FALL today I made some chilli in my Crockpot anyway. I had some veggies that needed to be used up so I thought why not!
It took only minutes to put together and it smelled wonderful while it was cooking! I love chilli because you can pretty much throw whatever you like in it and spice it up…it was a little bit of this and a little bit of that while I was making it. I did not follow a recipe…I tend not to when making chilli. I can tell you that there was beef, onions, carrots, red and orange peppers, kidney beans white and red, small can of chipotle peppers, a big can of diced tomatoes and a small can of tomato sauce in it along with a mish mash of spices!
I also made a wonderful batch of cornbread….
It turned out perfectly moist and sweet!
I served my chilli with some baked sweet potatoes and patty pan squash. I did not add these to the pot since my hubby is not a lover of these veggies but I really wanted to have them so I cooked them on the side. Compromise..right!
I put my chilli on top of my squash….
and a spoon full of Greek yogurt on top of my chilli…all the flavours were wonderful!
This whole meal just screamed Fall to me and was so delicious! So was the little glass of red! I was pretty full afterwards. Plus we have lots of leftovers for our lunches for while. I love meals that pull double duty!
Well my day is winding down now and I plan on kicking up my feet and watching a little Biggest Loser with my hubby! We PVR it and watch it together.
Nighty…night!
